Sometimes it may be hard to access drugs in a hurry, especially at night or during weekends. You may therefore be given a just in case box which will contain a small supply of medications which can be left in the home so that drugs are available as and when required. This medication can only be given to you by a nurse or doctor.

There will also be some information sheets for the nurse or doctor, as well as an administration sheet authorising your district nurse to give you medication by injection if necessary.
The medicines within the box will have been prescribed for you and should not therefore be given to anyone else. They should be kept in a safe place out of the reach of children.
